NeuroStar is indicated for adults who present with MDD, OCD, and MDD with anxious depression. It is safe, effective, FDA-cleared, and the top physician-recommended TMS therapy.
Most major American insurance companies will cover NeuroStar treatment in the Riverview area for eligible adult patients who meet the following criteria:
To qualify for treatment, a person must be an adult patient who has been diagnosed with moderate to severe MDD. The patient’s depression must not have been relieved by at least two antidepressant medications. However, some insurance companies require up to four failed antidepressant medications. A person must also not be pregnant or nursing.
A patient must be an adult diagnosed with OCD to qualify for TMS therapy. Their OCD symptoms also must not have seen relief from at least two medications and psychotherapy. Additionally, the patient should not be pregnant or nursing.
Some patients should not be treated with NeuroStar. Children, pregnant or nursing patients, patients who have conductive metal or stimulator implants in or near the head that cannot be removed, and those who have active or inactive implants, such as deep brain stimulators, cochlear implants, and vagus nerve stimulators, are ineligible for treatment.
Insurance coverage for eligible NeuroStar TMS Therapy patients is available in the Riverview and Tampa area as well as all 50 states, and more than 300 million Americans have insurance coverage for it. Some of the companies that cover treatments include:
As coverage and reimbursement is dependent on specific plans, guidelines, and insurance policies, it is best to contact the insurance provider directly to determine specific coverage for NeuroStar. Our office is happy to work with you to help you understand your insurance policy as you seek treatment.
Coverage and reimbursement for NeuroStar TMS Therapy is dependent on each insurance carrier, plan, and policy. Some plans may require copays on behalf of the patient. If so, the patient will be responsible for out-of-pocket costs during their NeuroStar treatment appointment. The specific copay cost will depend on a person’s insurance provider and individual policy.
NeuroStar does offer financial assistance for eligible patients. NeuroStar partners with organizations to provide financing options for patients not covered by insurance and to help with managing copays, deductibles, and full-cash pay.
Our offices are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for office visits and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m for TMS treatments.
